Part 2 of the IMLS programs is the Automation of PSS libraries. Joeten Kiyu Public Library has received a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to automate all PSS school libraries. Program began in 2004 and currently 13 schools have completed automation and 2 more are undergoing the process.
There are:
  • 15 Public Schools on Saipan.
  • 3 in Rota
  • 2 in Tinian

    1. WSR - William S. Reyes Elementary School
    2. HJHS -Hopwood Jr. High School
    3. MHS - Marianas High School
    4. SSHS - Saipan Southern High School
    5. KAGES - Kagman Elementary School
    6. COJHS - ChaCha Oceanview Jr. High School
    7. DES - Dandan Elementary School
    8. KHS - Kagman High School
    9. GTC - San Roque Elementary School
    10. SAES - San Antonio Elementary School
    11. TES - Tanapag Elementary School
    12. SVES - San Vicente Elementary School
    13. OES - Oleai Elementary School
    Total Schools still in process of automating: 2
    1. KES - Kobler Elementary School: Just started with process 1 of the automation due their library had opened up this year after the typhoon destruction.
    2. GES - Garapan Elementary School started way before GTC but due to lack of staff and computer resources, the library aid was not able to catch up on time.
